Love For Amy

> Wanna help? Donate!

I got creamed by a drunk driver, and will be out of work for an undetermined amount of time. I also don’t know how the medical bills and aftercare will work out. I don’t have health insurance, and am a freelancer, so I don’t get paid time off or anything like that. Since this was a hit and run, I am elligible for some state funding, but again, need to make sure I have money in case that falls through…or doesn’t cover physical therapy…or my rent!

So, I’m having a party!

Friday, November 30th at the Balazo Gallery in San Francisco
2183 Mission St (at 18th street)
6pm til late

This is an art/craft auction and dance party featuring DJ Sake 1 (Local 1200 hip-hop extraordinarre) and other local DJ’s bringing us electro, soul and dance music to keep the party going all night.

I’m currently looking for photos, prints, paintings, drawings, jewelery, and craft donations. Please send me an email if you’re interested and I’ll tell you more and get you my mailing address:

Hi Amy, it was so good to see you last night! I’ll knit up some stuff for the auction–what do you think people would like? xoxo~Ali

Count me in! I will be letting you know what I come up with. Also, I heard on the radio this morning that 8 out of 10 hospital bills are filled with tons of mistakes and that they charge for procedures they never did. Maybe someone can help make sure you get an invoice that reflects your care exactly the way it happened especially when you might have to pay for it. Just a note. Besos, Jo

Dear Amy,
I don’t know you, but I hope you get well soon and get the financial restitution you need for your bills and your emotional distress. I have been a bike rider all my life and dread the day when the drunken 17-year-old girl truck driver comes for me. I send you much love and a contribution to your cause. May you live long and do good!

Hi Amy,

I don’t know you but found your link on the SFBC website. I’m an east coaster, lived in the area for 2 years (Oakland) and wanted to let you know that I’m sorry about your accidents, it makes me mad and sad. I’ve been injured too on my bike (car door opening) help my injuries, stretching, gentle yoga and massage have helped a lot. One of the things I’ve noticed about Cali drivers is they think turn signaling is optional, so always assume everyone is drunk and stupid behind the wheel and wait for them to make their move first. BE STRONG AMY! Love, melissa
