Love For Amy

> Amy’s Fund Raiser

Friday, November 30th from 6pm til late. At the Balazo Gallery, 2183 Mission St at 18th Street, San Francisco

Who: Amy Woloszyn, local bicycle rider, involved in local politics, artist, active member of the community, member of the Bike Coalition and the League of Pissed Off Voters

What: Amy got run over by a drunk driver while riding her bicycle three weeks ago and was almost killed on Capp Street at 23rd Street, San Francisco. It was a hit and run and is unclear if there will be any restitution from the accident. She suffered a fractured skull, lacerated liver, numerous cuts and bruises over her entire body making everyday activities painful. She is in a neck brace 24/7 for the next two months and usually needs the help of a cane to limp around. She will be out of work for an undetermined amount of time and wants to raise money to ensure bills and rent are pain while she’s healing. She also wants to create awareness and visibility around how the city needs better biker awareness and dedicated bicycle lanes and the relationship between bike riders and drivers in general.

There will be an art and services auction (think paintings and massages!), bake sale, music performances, as well as DJ’s that will provide entertainment throughout the night. There will probably be a representative from the Bike Coalition handing out information and selling memberships. She has chef friends that will be preparing food, asking a small donation per plate. This is also an opportunity for her to celebrate life and party with her loved ones in the Bay Area.
